The Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh provides permanent homes, respite care, and advocacy to persons with intellectual disabilities. With the shortage of government funding available in Pennsylvania, many people in need of support are forced to remain on waiting lists for as long as 15 years. In Allegheny County alone, there are more than 3,100 people on a waiting list for services.
The Emmaus Community is committed to helping to fill this service gap now and in the future by expanding the number of residential homes it operates--so that more individuals with intellectual disabilities are living in the safe, secure, and loving residences that they desparately need.
To do this, we need your help. Please consider supporting our mission by making a donation, participating in our events and programs, becoming a CFC or United Way donor, or giving a gift in perpetuity. For more information about ways to support Emmaus, call Emmaus at 412-381-0277 or e-mail tmerrimanpreston@emmauspgh.org.
